Town, county and state dignitaries, family, friends, Pawling High School Advanced Placement History students, their teachers and administrators, along with members of the Pawling Rotary Club packed the Lathrop Center on April 13th to witness and celebrate the administration of the oath of allegiance to eighty new citizens.
Town Supervisor James Schmidt and Pawling Rotary President Jeff Asher welcomed all. Sheriff Adrian “Butch” Anderson was the keynote speaker. Musical accompaniment was provided by the combined voices of The Christ Church Singers and the Putnam Chorale. The Pawling Rotary Club coordinated the event with the office of County Clerk Bradford H. Kendall, and provided refreshments following the ceremony presided over by the Honorable Christi J Acker, New York State Supreme Court Justice, Ninth Judicial District.
