10th Annual Stuff the Bus for the PRC Happening on Saturday, July 19th!
By Susan Stone
Pawling Rotary, along with partners Hannaford Supermarket and the PCSD, is pleased to announce the 10th annual Stuff the Bus to benefit the Pawling Resource Center’s food pantry will take place on Saturday, July 19th . The little yellow school bus will be parked in front of Hannaford’s at 9 a.m. and will remain there until 1 p.m., with the hope that community members will fill it with needed food items and supplies during this annual day of giving back. Normal summer supply shortages have been compounded this year due to reduced funding for the Hudson Valley Food Bank, which is one of the major providers to our PRC food pantry, so community support for Stuff the Bus this year is more important than ever.
Rotary club members, easily identifiable in their blue Rotarians at Work shirts, will be available to assist with the bus stuffing, PRC volunteers will be on hand to load supplies onto food pantry shelves, and members of the CSEA (Civil Service Employee Association), better known as our helpful and dependable bus drivers, will happily give their time to transport items to the Resource Center.
Lists of needed items will be available and prominently displayed at Hannaford’s. Aside from personal care items, diapers, baby wipes, paper goods and cleaning supplies, the food pantry is always in need of assorted canned goods, pasta, sauces, juices, juice boxes, condiments and cereals.
Rotary’s new president, Carolyn Graziano has been instrumental in organizing this event and shared, “I’m incredibly excited to kick off my first event as the President of Pawling Rotary with “Stuff the Bus.” This marks my third year participating in this wonderful tradition, and it’s an honor to now lead it in a new role. Each year, I’m inspired by the generosity and heart of our community and I’m confident his year will be no different. We’re placing a special focus on collecting toiletries (items that are so often needed but easily overlooked) for our Pawling Resource Center. These donations make a real difference in the daily lives of our neighbors. Thank you to everyone who continues to show up and support. Together, we’re making Pawling stronger, kinder, and more connected.”
With July 19th right around the corner, the Stuff the Bus team looks forward to seeing one and all at this annual community wide event
