Ninth Annual Stuff the Bus at Hannaford’s on July 20th
The Pawling Rotary Club, along with event partners Hannaford’s Supermarket, the Pawling Resource Center, and the Pawling Central School District, are proud to sponsor the ninth annual Stuff the Bus event benefiting the PRC food pantry during a time of year when items are most needed.
This community-wide event will take place on Saturday, July 20th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hannaford’s on Rt. 22 in Pawling, with volunteers representing participating organizations available to help make this day a success. Event partners are particularly thankful to the Pawling Central School District bus drivers, who volunteer their time every year for this worthy cause. They are all members of the CSEA (Civil Service Employee Association) and will be the smiling faces behind the wheel who also help with loading needed items onto the yellow school bus for transport to the PRC.
Jennifer Veronesi, manager at Hannaford’s in Pawling, is looking forward to July 20th, when the community is invited to shop in support of the PRC’s food bank while also shopping for their own grocery needs. Ralph Andren, Human Resources Associate Relations Manager, and Brendan Simmons, Front End Customer Service Manager, will see that items needed for the Resource Center will be well stocked. Signage will be available to make finding these items easier, and Hannaford employees will be busy setting up the store for this much-anticipated event.
Stuff the Bus will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m., at which time the school bus, filled with community donations, will be driven to the Resource Center at 126 East Main Street in Pawling Village. PRC volunteers will unload and move items into the center and onto the shelves!
Among the items most needed by the PRC are paper goods and cleaning products; personal care products such as shampoo, deodorant, soap, toothpaste, and toothbrushes; child care products such as diapers in sizes 4-6 along with wipes; food products such as pasta, juice bottles and boxes, and tomato sauce; and canned goods such as tuna, salmon, ravioli, stew, chili, beans, and vegetables.
Please save the date: Saturday, July 20th, when the little yellow school bus will be parked in front of Hannaford’s … as we all Stuff the Bus for the PRC!!
